Peruvannamuzhi Dam, also called the Kuttiady Dam, crosses the Kuttiady River at Peruvannamuzhi in Chakkittapara panchayat, Kozhikode district, about 16 km from Kuttiady and 55 km from Kozhikode. Built for the Kuttiady irrigation project between 1962 and 1973, it is a masonry dam about 35 m high and 170 m long, backed by 13 earth saddle dams that enlarge the reservoir.
The reservoir spreads into Chakkittapara and Koorachundu panchayats and is a popular visitor spot in the district, with speedboats and other boats on the water. The place also lends its name to the Peruvannamuzhi Wildlife Sanctuary, otherwise called the Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary. The state electricity board plans to add a small 6 MW power station.
