The story

Our Lady of Good Health Church is in Mathigiri, a suburb of Hosur, Tamil Nadu, and is regarded as the mother parish of the Hosur and Denkanikottai belt, now under the Dharmapuri Diocese. Paris Mission Fathers settled here in the early 19th century. The first church dates from 1837, under Fr. Étienne-Louis Charbonnaux, later first bishop of Mysore, and Mathigiri became a parish in 1862.

That building grew too small, so a new one went up in neighbouring Kudharaipalayam in 1924, when the festival of St. Mary on 8 September also began. It served until 2001, when the present church opened at Netaji Nagar. After years out of use the 1924 church was renovated in 2015 and named a Heritage Church by Bishop Lawrence Pius, dedicated to the diocese's retired priests.
