Nariampara Puthiyakavu Devikshethram is a Devi temple at Nariampara near Kattappana in Idukki district, beside the state highway to Kuttikkanam, some 3 km out of Kattappana. It began as the family temple of the Kalloorath family and is tied to the Moothedathu Devi Temple at Vaikom, where an ancestor of the family served as velichappadu, the oracle.
The family story tells that Gowri Kuttapan inherited his sword and, after settling at Kattappana with her husband Kuttapan, lit a lamp before it. When the family met with illness and hardship, an astrological consultation found the goddess present and asking for her own shelter, so Kuttapan built a small shrine in the early 20th century. In 1989 the family raised a proper temple under the leadership of K. K. Thankapan and handed its running to a committee of 51 neighbours. The main festival is the Kumbha Bharani Mahotsavam in February and March.
