The story

Museo Camera in Gurugram is a museum given over to photography and its history. It started in 2009 as a private collection of photographic equipment that Aditya Arya, a photographer, historian and archivist, kept in his basement.

The India Photo Archive Foundation later joined with the city's municipal corporation to turn the collection into a public institution, billed as South East Asia's largest not-for-profit centre for photographic art. The museum was formally inaugurated in 2019 and is run through this public-private arrangement.
