01 — The story

Mehrun Lake is a natural lake close to Jalgaon in Maharashtra and a favourite spot for local people to spend time. Several parks lie near its shores and add to its appeal.

The lake also has religious meaning for families who have moved to Jalgaon from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, who gather here to perform Chhath Puja. The Mehrun bor, a fruit famous across Jalgaon district, shares the lake's name. The municipal corporation has plans to build a Ganesh temple and to renovate the lake to attract more visitors.
