01 — The story

The story

Lamsial Puk is a cave set high on a large rock face in rough country near Farkawn village in Champhai district. Inside lie human skulls and bones that have stayed in place for around three centuries, preserved in the cave's interior.

Who these people were, and how their remains came to rest here, has never been settled. A common explanation links them to Lamsial, a village that once stood in the area during the period when Mizo settlers first moved along the Tiau River, which forms the border with Myanmar.
