The story

Lam Dal, also called Laam Dal or Lama Dal, is a high-altitude lake on Piura Dhar in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, about 45 km from the town of Chamba and at roughly 3,960 metres. The lake is held sacred to Shiva and is part of a pilgrimage held in July or August according to the Hindu calendar.

It is a moderate to advanced trek. One route starts from Ghera, the roadhead, and climbs by way of Kareri village and Kareri Lake, which lies about 3 km to the south-west as the crow flies. Another starts from McLeod Ganj and goes over Triund along the Bagga trail.
