The story

The Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah in Kalaburagi is the tomb of the Sufi saint Khwaja Bande Nawaz and one of the most visited pilgrimage places in northern Karnataka. Pilgrims from across India and abroad come to pray for health and prosperity, and people of different faiths gather here, in keeping with the saint's message of love, tolerance and service to others.

The white tomb building, a work of Deccan architecture, is topped by a tall dome and has carved detail, smaller domes and minarets. A wide courtyard with gardens surrounds it, and the halls fill with incense and the sound of prayers. Gulbarga Fort, the Chandrampalli Dam and the Buddha Vihar are among the other sights nearby.
