The story

Kalamb Beach is a long, secluded stretch of shore at Nalasopara West, close to Nirmal village in Palghar district, at the far northern edge of Mumbai's suburbs. It is the fourth in a row of beaches, coming after Arnala, Navapur and Rajodi. The sand is thick and partly black, and the beach is described as clean and free of crowds.

It lies roughly 70 km from Mumbai city, a journey of two to three hours. From Nalasopara station on the Western Railway the beach is about 7 km away, with buses from the depot beside the station and autos that charge fixed fares rather than running a meter. By road, the turn into Nalasopara comes off the Mumbai–Ahmedabad highway (NH 8), and the route continues along the Wagholi–Nirmal road and past Nirmal market.
