01 — The story

The story

Kakinada Beach is on the Andhra Pradesh coast at the city of Kakinada, with soft sand, mild waves and sunset views. Fishing boats come in to the shore with their catch, and the beach is quieter than many busier stretches. Boating and kayaking are offered locally, and the cooler months from October to March are the liveliest time.

Small stalls along the beach sell local snacks and seafood made from fresh fish in coastal Andhra style. The Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary, with its mangroves and birds, is a short drive away, and the Shiva temple at Draksharama and the Godavari town of Rajahmundry are further inland.
