The story

Kakinada's A.S.P. Government Museum, which also works as a research institute, has been collecting and preserving the region's heritage since 1973. Its holdings include palm-leaf manuscripts and a gallery of around 400 antiquities.

The displays cover early historic pottery, Buddhist objects, terracotta figurines, copper plate inscriptions that once recorded royal orders, and old coins. Stone sculptures and a collection of weapons are also shown. Hope Island, Kakinada Beach, the Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary and the Draksharama Shiva temple are among the places nearby.
