The story

Kadachira Sri Thrikkapalam Siva Temple stands beside the Anjarakandi River at Peralassery, in Kannur district, near Peralassery junction on the Kannur–Koothuparamba road. It is dedicated to Shiva as Dakshinamurthy, the teacher of all kinds of knowledge.

Unusually, the temple has two idols of equal importance, both of Dakshinamurthy, in separate east-facing sanctums. Folklore credits Parasurama with installing the idol, and the temple is part of the 108 Shiva temples of Kerala. It is one of three Thrikkapaleeswaram temples named in the hymn of the 108 Shiva temples, the others being at Niranam and Nadapuram.
