Jokai Botanical Garden

The Jokai Botanical Garden-cum-Germplasm Centre lies inside the Jokai Reserve Forest in Dibrugarh district. It was set up to conserve the plant life of the region and put it on public display, and it now draws visitors interested in eco-tourism.

Its germplasm centre keeps living tissue of rare and valuable species as a reserve for conservation work. An orchid house holds flowering orchids of many colours and forms, while a rainforest specimen plot recreates a tall forest canopy, with ferns and mosses growing in the shade beneath the trees.
