Irshalgad is a small fort between Matheran and Panvel, a sister fort of Prabalgad, with several water cisterns cut into the rock. The nearest village is Irshalwadi.
The trek is about 6.5 km there and back from Nanivali village, a 2.3 km walk from Chowk railway station on the Panvel–Karjat road. A broad path climbs a steep ridge to Irshalwadi, then goes past a temple of a local deity onto the plateau. Rated easy to moderate, it takes about two hours up and an hour and a half down, and is suitable for children as far as the base of the pinnacle. Climbing the pinnacle itself is dangerous, and there have been many deaths there.
