Indroda Nature Park lies a few kilometres from central Gandhinagar. Founded in the early 1970s, it was later expanded by the GEER Foundation into a centre for environmental education. Its best-known section deals with prehistoric life, prompted by the dinosaur eggs and bones found in the Balasinor area, and shows real fossilised eggs alongside skeletal displays.
Other parts of the park hold native animals such as deer, crocodiles, peacocks, tortoises and porcupines in semi-natural enclosures, and planted areas of medicinal plants, bamboo and cacti. A museum on site displays fossils, minerals, geological models and wildlife specimens. Shaded paths, signboards and picnic spots make it a common choice for school groups and families.
