The story

The Hibiscus Garden in Sector 36 of Chandigarh opened to the public in 1974 and covers eight acres. It was one of the early gardens behind Chandigarh's reputation as the City of Gardens.

More than 40 varieties of hibiscus grow here, in colours from deep red and soft pink to less common oranges and yellows. Winding paths run between the shrubs, tall shade trees make it a popular place for family picnics, and benches set among the flowers offer quiet spots to sit. The blooms also draw photographers.
