Gudavi Bird Sanctuary covers 0.74 square kilometres in Soraba taluk of Shivamogga district, in Karnataka's Malenadu region. Its heart is a small natural lake that fills mainly in the rains, with trees around it where the birds shelter and breed, and different species arrive through the seasons.
A 2009 survey counted 217 species from 48 families, among them grey and night herons, little cormorants, darters, white ibis, Eurasian spoonbills and Brahminy kites. A platform lets visitors watch the birds at closer range. The sanctuary is 15 km from Banavasi, 16 km from Soraba and 38 km from Sirsi.
