Grass Hills, a protected tract of the Western Ghats, belongs to the Anamalai Tiger Reserve, where it forms the reserve's boundary with Eravikulam National Park in Kerala. Despite its name, it is not actually a national park. It covers some 65,000 hectares.
The terrain mixes summits and lofty plateaus rising beyond 2,000 m, clothed in the montane shola-grassland that is found only in the higher ranges of the Western Ghats in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Among its notable summits are Attuparai Kurukku (6,662 ft), Silve Medu, Oosi Malai Theri and Kazhuku Chutti Malai.
