The story

Gosagaresvar Siva Temple is a Hindu temple complex in Bhubaneswar dedicated to Shiva. Three Shiva shrines stand within its compound walls, and the main one is a living temple whose presiding deity is a Shiva linga set in a circular yonipitha.

It was built under the Ganga rulers in the 14th or 15th century. The main shrine is a pidha vimana, a tiered-roof design of the Kalinga order in a modest form, assembled from coarse-grained sandstone blocks laid as dry ashlar masonry. Odisha State Archaeology carried out repairs under awards of the 10th and 11th Finance Commissions. Sivaratri and Sankranti are observed here.
