The story

The Dashabhuja Ganapati Temple stands beside Karve Road in Pandurang Colony, Erandwane, in Pune, near the junction once known as Paud Phata, where a flyover now carries traffic towards Paud Road. It once belonged to Sardar Haripant Phadke, who served the Peshwas as a sardar, and was later given to the Peshwas as dowry.

Its presiding deity is Ganesh, and the idol's trunk rests on the right, a form considered rarer and more sacred than others. A small Hanuman shrine stands beside the main temple. Thousands of devotees visit daily, and numbers swell during Ganesh Chaturthi, when crowds gather for the evening aarti.
