Tirupullamangai, the Brahmapuriswara temple, is a Shiva temple at Pullamangai, in Pasupathikoil in Thanjavur district's Papanasam taluk, on the bank of the Kudamurutti, a tributary of the Kaveri. It is a Paadal Petra Sthalam sung by Tirugnanasambandar and one of the seven Saptamangai shrines linked with the Saptamatrikas. The historian Harle counts it among the four early surviving Chola temples, with the Koranganatha Temple, Moovar Koil and the Nageswaran temple at Kumbakonam; like them, it follows Pallava models and is small, with a porch set slightly below ground.
Only the sanctum and ardhamandapa belong to the original building; the small east gopuram, front hall and goddess shrine are later, and the early attendant shrines have gone. The temple is known for the beauty of its sculpture: niche images of Dakshinamurthy, Lingodbhavar, Brahma and Durga, figures of Vishnu, Narasimha and Tripurantaka on the vimana, and a series of miniature panels showing scenes from the Ramayana.
