The story

Brahma Kund, a temple tank lined with steps, lies in Sihor, Bhavnagar district, close to the old town's southern wall. Its date is not known; it is mentioned in the Skanda Purana and is believed to be the work of the Chaulukya king Jayasimha Siddharaja. Legend says the king, struck by a skin disease after a curse from Ranakadevi, the Junagadh queen he had captured, was cured by bathing here and refurbished the tank in return. Its water is still held to be miraculous. Merutunga's Prabandha-Chintamani and the Ain-e-Akbari both mention it.

The tank is laid out with steps and small shrines, with images of Hindu deities and other stonework throughout. The Neelkanth Mahadev temple stands nearby, as do Gautam Lake and the Gautameshwar temple. On Bhadarvi Amas, the last day of Shraavana, a fair here draws tens of thousands of people. The kund is a State Protected Monument, though it is now poorly maintained.
