The Bhadreshwar Jain Temple, also called the Vasai Jain Temple, is in Bhadreshwar village of Mundra taluka, Kutch. A 19th-century chronicle by Acharya Bantvijaya traces it to 516 BCE and says the Parshvanatha image was installed in the 5th century BCE; the earliest known reference dates from the 8th century. The merchant Jagdusha renovated it extensively in the 13th century, and Kutch's Mistri craftsmen repaired it after earthquakes in 1819, 1844–45 and 1875.
The complex was devastated again in the earthquake of 26 January 2001 and has since been entirely rebuilt, since many old shrines could not be saved. Laid out on the plan of the Dilwara Temples at Mount Abu, the main shrine, with three pillared domes, stands at the end of a courtyard ringed by 52 sub-shrines, and a large domed porch marks the east entrance. It is known for its marble images and detailed carving.
