The story

Bap Teng Kang is a waterfall roughly 80 km from Tawang town, in highlands home to the Monpa people, who regard it as a source of life and spiritual renewal. It drops more than 100 feet in several tiers, each giving a different view of the falling water, and throws up a fine mist over the dense greenery around it.

Local legend links the name to Bap Teng Kang, a mythical protector of the nearby forests whose tears are said to have run down the rocks to form the falls. A shallow pool lies at the foot of the cascade, and birdwatchers look for the Himalayan monal pheasant in the area.
