Ahansar Lake is a freshwater ox-bow lake at Ahan in Ganderbal district, in Jammu and Kashmir, close to Manasbal Lake and approximately 26 km north-west of Srinagar. It covers 0.80 sq km at an altitude of 1,584 metres, and is at most 4.80 metres deep.
The lake is shallow, with a wide band of emergent plants around its edge. Underground springs keep it supplied, helped by a temporary irrigation channel during the paddy season, and a permanent channel on the western side carries extra water to the Jhelum. Its fish include black mahseer, Sattar snowtrout and rosy barb, along with several kinds of carp, among them grass, mirror and crucian carp.
