The story

The Tomb of Bakhtiyar Khan stands on the edge of Chainpur, a few kilometres west of Bhabua, the headquarters of Kaimur district in Bihar. It is protected as a monument of national importance. Its inscription gives no date, but the building's style matches that of Sher Shah Suri's tomb, and it is generally placed in the 16th or 17th century.

Built in the Indo-Islamic manner, the tomb is octagonal and rests on a low plinth, with its gateway on the east side. Its inscription is made up of verses from the Quran. Around thirty graves lie inside the building, and more are found in the outer courtyard.
