Theerthapurisvarar Temple is a Shiva temple in the village of Thiruvattathurai, whose other names include Tiruvatturai, Tiruvaratthurai and Tirunelvayil Arattjurai, in Cuddalore district. It lies on the bus route between Thozhudur and Vridhachalam, roughly 20 km from Thozhudur. The linga is worshipped as Aratturainathar, Anandeeswarar and Theerthapurisvarar, and the goddess as Anandanayagi, Tirupurasundari or Arattthurai Nayaki. Among those said to have worshipped here are Appar, Sambandar, Sundarar, Sekkizhar, Nambiyandar Nambi, Valmiki and Aravan. The main festivals are Maha Sivaratri in February–March, Margazhi Tiruvadhirai in December–January and Panguni Uthiram in March–April.
