St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic Church stands at Vellayambalam junction in Thiruvananthapuram, close to the Raj Bhavan and the home of the archbishop. It is dedicated to St Thérèse of Lisieux.
The parish began with a small group from Vellayambalam, Sasthamangalam, Kowdiar and nearby areas, who met in a little shed beside the site of today's church. Mass was first said in Malayalam, and English Mass was added later; both continue. After 2000 the congregation had outgrown the shed, and the parishioners raised donations and worked together to build the present church.
