The story

Shree Pavapuri Tirth Dham is a Śvetāmbara Jain temple complex in Sirohi district, Rajasthan, built by the K. P. Sanghvi Group. It takes its name from the Pavada agricultural well on the site. The founders, Hajarimalji and Babulalji Sanghvi, were inspired by Kumarpalbhai V. Shah and began work on 30 May 1998. The original plan was modest, a small temple with a shelter for 100 cows, but the campus now covers more than 500 acres.

The temple took two and a half years to build, with an average of 400 artisans working each day, and opened for worship on 7 February 2001. On the same campus is the Jeev Raksha Kendra, an animal welfare centre founded in 1998 that looks after stray cows, buffaloes, dogs and donkeys. Its goshala covers more than 7,000,000 square feet and houses over 5,000 stray cattle, with more than 150 staff and a few veterinary doctors.
