Satmaliya Deer Park

Close to the Vasona Lion Safari, Satmaliya Deer Park shelters several deer and antelope species, among them chinkara, blackbuck, spotted deer, sambar and chital. In the early morning, around feeding time, the animals tend to collect in herds by the main gate and along the road.

A machan, or raised watchtower, stands beside the park's water hole and looks out over the reserve towards the Madhuban Dam. Birdlife adds to the mammals: peafowl, thrushes and flame-backed woodpeckers are all recorded here, which makes the park popular with birdwatchers and photographers.
