Rupgadh, or Roopgadh, is a fort in Gujarat's Dang district and an example of 17th-century Dangi mountain building. It began as a stronghold of Bhil kings and later passed to the Gaekwads; Pilaji Rao Gaikwad built the fort in 1721 and made Songadh his capital, before his son Damaji Rao moved the seat to Vadodara.
The fort stands at 1,670 feet; from the Bhangrapani forest checkpost the ascent is 780 feet. Within it are places to store water, food and ammunition. To the north is a spring with a small Hanuman temple beside it, and a few cannons lie near the temple. Vehicles can reach the fort in about an hour from Kalibel village via Popatbari, and from the north it can be approached from Vadirupgadh village near Songadh.
