The story

Rasikbil is a small lake and wetland in the Tufanganj subdivision of Cooch Behar district, West Bengal, about 7.5 km from Kamakhyaguri, the nearest town and railway station.

The lake attracts many birds, which nest in the surrounding trees. Cormorants, storks, ibises, spoonbills, kingfishers, parrots and owls are found here, and ducks include the lesser whistling duck, red-crested pochard, ferruginous duck, gadwall, pintail and shoveler, along with grey-headed and northern lapwings. Beside the lake are a deer park, a crocodile rehabilitation centre, a leopard house, a python house, an aviary and a tortoise rescue centre.
