Polo Park is a green space inside Itanagar, named after the game of polo and looked after by the Arunachal Pradesh Forest Department. Its botanical garden holds a wide range of flowers and orchids, with dense stands of cane along the paths, and the planting draws a variety of birds.
A small zoo within the grounds keeps reptiles and small animals, among them rabbits, guinea pigs and several kinds of snake. The park also has a handicraft centre selling the state's tribal cane and bamboo work along with shawls, woven carpets and carved caskets, plus a children's play area and a modest amusement park.
