Norbulingka Institute near Dharamshala presents Tibetan culture and crafts. Its West Wing holds the Losel Doll Museum, where 160 finely made dolls show the range of Tibetan clothing, from regional costume to the dress of opera performers and monks. The monks of Drepung Loseling produced the collection over about twenty years of research and work.
Beyond the dolls, the institute displays thangka paintings, carved woodwork, carpet weaving, textiles, sculpture and other handicrafts, giving a broad picture of Tibetan artistic traditions.
