The story

Menjor Multipurpose Research Centre and Unity Park, usually called MMRC and Unity Park, is in Khangabok town in Thoubal district, Manipur. The educationalist Kh. Menjor Mangang created it as a research centre, museum, garden and recreation park devoted to the cultures of the many ethnic and religious communities of Manipur, with Meitei culture as its main focus.

As a statement of communal harmony, the grounds hold places of worship for several faiths: a temple of Pakhangba from Sanamahism, the traditional Meitei religion, along with a church, a mosque, a Buddhist temple and a Hindu temple. Displays show the traditional way of life of the ancient Meiteis. Of the many sculptures on show, the statues of Lourembam Khongnangthaba and six other divine maichous are regarded as rare works of art.
