The story

Shri Mandodari Temple stands in Betki village, roughly 5 km from Marcel in Ponda, Goa, at an elevation of 81 feet. Its chief deity is Mandodari, a water goddess and the gramadevata, or village deity, of Betki; she is not Ravana's wife of the same name.

The temple is known for stories of the goddess's miracles and of a sacrifice made by the villagers. The Shree Mandodari Devasthan marked 102 years since its constitution in 2013, although the shrine itself is of much older foundation.
