The story

Mama Bhanja Temple is a Shiva temple in Barsur, Chhattisgarh, now in the care of the Archaeological Survey of India.

Its name comes from the story of its building. Legend has it that two relatives were given the job of raising the temple: a maternal uncle, or mama, and his nephew, the bhanja. The pair are said to have completed the whole work in a single day, a feat remembered in the name the temple still carries.
