The story

Maa Simsa Mandir, also called Simsa Mata Mandir, is a Hindu temple to Sharada Devi in the Ladbharol area of Joginder Nagar subdivision, Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh. The main temple is in Simsa village, 30 km from Baijnath town and 38 km from Joginder Nagar, and Daroh village, 17 km from Palampur, has a second temple to Simsa Mata.

The temple is best known for a Navratri custom. Many women without children come at this time to seek the blessing of the goddess, sleeping on the floor within the premises as tradition requires. They believe a dream will come to tell them that their prayers have been accepted, and that the goddess will grant them a child.
