The story

Laddu Baba Temple stands in Sharanakula, a town in Nayagarh district, Odisha. Its deity is Shiva as Laddukeshwar, known affectionately as Laddu Baba, and it is an important pilgrimage centre for Shaivites in southern Odisha.

The temple goes back to medieval times, and its architecture blends Kalinga and Dravidian styles. Unlike most Hindu temples, it has traditionally had priests from a low caste conducting the prayers. Mahashivaratri is the main festival of the year.
