Jivdhan is a hill fort in Junnar taluka of Pune district, 1 kilometre from Ghatghar, rising to 1,145 metres in the Sahyadri range. It dates from the Satavahana era and guarded Naneghat, the nearby toll pass through which traders moved goods between the coast and the interior. The boy Murtaza Nizam Shah III, last nominal Nizam Shahi ruler, is said to have been kept prisoner here by the Mughals until Shahaji freed him in 1635. Colonel Prother of the East India Company took the fort in 1818 and destroyed parts of it.
With Chavand, Hadsar, Shivneri and Naneghat it forms a well-known group of treks, graded difficult because of confusing forest paths and the need for climbing gear. Rock-cut steps with hooks fixed in the walls lead to the Kalyan gate. On top are storehouses, a goddess temple and water tanks, and nearby rises the 385-foot Vanarlingi pinnacle. Harishchandragad, Ratangad and the Junnar plateau are visible from the summit.
