The District Archaeological Museum in Rajnandgaon presents the history and culture of the district across five galleries. Its holdings range from fossils and stone tools of prehistoric date to objects associated with the former princely state of Rajnandgaon.
One section uses plaster casts to reproduce archaeological sites found in the area, while others display old statues and fine metalwork. The museum also gives a broad picture of tribal life in the region, with traditional ornaments, clothing and hunting gear on show.
