01 — The story

The story

Choral Dam holds back a reservoir about 40 km from central Indore and 10 km from the town of Mhow, set among trees and low hills. The water is open for boat rides and kayaking, and the green, shaded banks are used for picnics and walks along the shore, with some visitors wading at the edge of the calm water.

The reservoir supports fish, and birds are often seen flying over it. Sunrise and sunset over the lake are popular times to be here, when the light falls across the water and the surrounding hills.
