The story

Bibi Ki Masjid, the Mosque of the Lady, also called Bibi Saheba Masjid, is in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, and is a Monument of National Importance cared for by the ASI. It was built in the 16th century under the Faruqi dynasty, around the time of Burhanpur's Jama Masjid, probably for Begum Rokeya, a queen of Adil Khan Faruqi III and daughter of Sultan Muzaffar Shah III of Gujarat.

Its style follows Gujarat Sultanate work, especially the Jama Masjid at Champaner. A large arched entrance in the closed facade is flanked by two five-storey minarets, stone below and brick above, with oriel windows and cupolas; one has fallen completely. Of the three big domes on the rectangular building only one survives, with smaller cupolas on the roof. The mosque carries two Persian inscriptions on its pillars and an Arabic one over the gate. Part of the wall collapsed in heavy rain in 2016.
