The story

Bhavnath Temple is an old Shiva shrine in Mau village, Bhiloda taluka, Aravalli district, about 6 km from Bhiloda. An inscription puts its age at around 1,300 years. Alongside the Shiva temple is one dedicated to Avan Rishi, son of the sage Bhrigu, and a tank called Bhrigukund whose water is believed to cure leprosy.

The temple now stands within the reservoir of a dam on the Indrasi River. Fairs held on the last Monday of the month of Shraavana and on Mahashivratri draw large numbers of people.
