The story

The Ananta Basudeba temple is a Krishna temple in the Hangseshwari temple complex at Bansberia in Hooghly district, West Bengal. Raja Rameswar Datta built it in 1679 in the traditional eka-ratna style, a single-towered form with curved cornices, crowned by an octagonal tower.

The temple is noted for the fine terracotta work that covers its walls. The panels tell stories from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, alongside scenes from the lilas of Krishna, to whom the temple is dedicated.
