The story

Ain-ul-Mulk's Tomb, also called Chota Gumbaz, stands in Ainapur, a suburb about 2.5 km east of central Bijapur (Vijayapura). Dating from the Adil Shahi era, it holds Ain-ul-Mulk, a noble of Ibrahim I's court who rose in revolt against him and was killed in 1556. It is a Monument of National Importance.

The tomb is a square building crowned by a large hemispherical dome, with domed pavilions at the four corners. Each side has two tiers of three recessed arches, and stucco work decorates the walls. Next to it is a richly decorated mosque whose roof parapet is lined with pot-shaped finials topped by small domes.
