The story

Vattal Kurishu Palli at Maikavu, about 40 km from Kozhikode, is one of the oldest Syriac Orthodox pilgrim centres in Kerala. Its patron saints are St George and Parumala Thirumeni, and it is a chapel of the Jacobite Syrian church of St Mary at Maikavu.

Coconut palms and broad arecanut fields surround the chapel, and thousands of people from around the world come here to seek the intercession of St George.
