Vashisht Temple stands in the village of Vashisht, about 3 km from Manali on the far bank of the Beas. It honours Sage Vashisht, one of the Saptarishis and teacher of Rama. Legend ties the site to his ordeal at the hands of King Vishwamitra and his recovery beside the river then called the Vipasha. The temple is built in Kath Kuni style, stone and wood without mortar, with carved woodwork, murals and a granite statue of the sage.
The village is known for hot sulphur springs that rise through granite and are believed to ease ailments. The baths, flanked by sandstone temples, have separate bathing areas. A trek from the area leads to Jogini Waterfall.
