01 — The story

The story

Vagator Beach in North Goa takes its name from the village of Vagator behind it and is known for its red cliffs, clean sand and sunset views. A headland, which holds the car park, divides it into Big Vagator and Little Vagator, the latter lying next to Ozran beach. It is counted among the cleanest beaches in Goa and draws smaller crowds than Baga or Calangute.

The clifftop at Little Vagator is a well-known party area, with bars and clubs facing the sea at sundown. Shacks, cafes and restaurants serving international food line the shore, while backpacker lodgings and upmarket resorts sit further inland. Daytime options include water sports, parasailing, boat trips to look for dolphins, sunbathing and swimming in calm water.
