Starscapes Observatory sits beside the Hanuman Mandir on the main road between Bhimtal and Naukuchiatal, close to both lakes and under relatively dark skies. It is aimed at families, students and anyone curious about astronomy.
The main programme is a Night Sky Show of 30 to 40 minutes explaining what can be seen overhead. A StarGuide helps visitors take photos framed with a chosen constellation, and a two-hour astrophotography workshop teaches Milky Way photography with phones or DSLR cameras, with no experience needed. By day, solar filters built to IOA specifications allow safe viewing of the Sun's surface. Groups can also book celebrations under the stars.
